Garden to plate and pattern. That's the whole story, really.
My name is Peta Fletcher. I'm a surface pattern designer based in southern Tasmania, and my work is rooted in the garden. I love to celebrate the seasons — the things that grow, the things we cook, and the beauty in all of it.
From a kitchen bed in Hobart I grow the things that end up on the table: tomatoes, zucchini, edible flowers, herbs. And then, slowly, those same things end up in my patterns — drawn in Procreate, built into repeat, and designed for the everyday objects that belong in a kitchen, a garden room, or a home that feels lived-in and loved.
Rooted in Tasmania
I have been a creative person my whole life — it’s simply how I think and move through the world. But it wasn’t until 2021 that I made a deliberate commitment to put that at the centre of everything.
My creative practice grew out of my recovery from PTSD. The garden, the kitchen, the slow rhythm of growing and making things — these weren’t hobbies I picked up. They were the things that held me, and eventually the things that led me back to myself. Crafted Pear is built on that foundation. It’s a practice rooted in nourishment — of the land, of the table, and of the people around it.
I love to work with people who believe in making things slowly, with intention and with meaning. That shared understanding runs through everything at Crafted Pear — the garden, the patterns, and the story behind each one.
